On the internet, Content is King.
And like all great leaders it needs to be believable, friendly, accessible and interesting.
We've been helping businesses tune their content for the web for over 10 years. Here's how:
- Establish Credibility
Give your audience a reason to believe up front, followed by benefit led headings and sub-headings that lead them from one point to the next in a logical manner.
Most people will first quickly scan the text of a sales brochure or a web page. If the words are presented correctly, they should be able to understand the main thrust of your offer at a glance.
- Being Friendly
Clarity in communication is about saying what you want to say, but doing so in a way the audience can relate to immediately.
The use of everyday English gets them to the point faster and reflects a friendly organisation. That includes analogies and even the odd cliché, as they can help to get across complex thoughts, ideas and messages. Don't let correct grammar, overly formal or technical language come between you and the audience. A split infinitive here and there - or a sentence starting with And or But - never got in the way of clarity. As long as they're used sparingly and consistently.
- Sustain Interest
There's no merit in telling an audience exactly what they expect to hear. It's a turn off. There should always be an element of surprise. We can show you how to differentiate your messages in the marketplace and ensure they're truly compelling.
Keep your content of your site dynamic with news, blogs, reviews, galleries, cartoons and gossip. It'll keep your visitors coming back for more.
- Be Accessible
The internet is a great tool for everyone. And good online solutions should be accessible to anyone on it. That means people using different browsing technologies, from mobile phones to screen-readers for the visually impaired. All our websites are designed to comply with the latest W3C standards for web design and accessibility.
